June 2020 Financial Update
June saw a high amount of payments on pledges from across the guilds. We received $170,000 mainly from pledge payments, but also some one time gifts. Eleven newcomers joined ranks with existing guild members bringing the total to almost 900 (our goal is 965 guild members). The total raised increased by $30,000 to $26.71 million which includes $4.36 million in pledge payments promised in the future.
Donors are urged to continue to make their pledge payments, including annual payments: for many who started their pledges a year ago, the next annual payment should be sent by August.
To reach our original goal of $30 million, we need to raise $3.29 million. We have mapped out plans to complete fund raising by the project’s completion and will be reaching out to new as well as existing donors. In August we will work with everyone to help us spread the word to new audiences about this enormous project providing practical means for supporters to work with us in this effort.
In June we spent another $160,000 (mostly the architect) bringing our spending on this project to almost $1.2 million. By June’s end, the architect was nearing completion of the “75% Construction Document set” (which they issued to the contractor in July). This document includes “100%” Civil, Structural, and Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing drawings as well as 75% Architectural drawings. The 75% Set includes a total of 350 24”x36” drawing sheets, 127 Architectural pages.
The architect continued their weekly coordination meetings with engineering consultants and the project team to discuss final design details of specific spaces within the plan including Sacristy, Working Sacristy, Flower Room, Servers’ Robing, Baptistery, Reliquary Chapel and more. Spatial acoustics recommendations have begun to be incorporated into the overall design; an Acoustical Consultant also met with the project team and other invited guests to discuss needs and desires for the sound reinforcement system in the building. Progress was also made with the Lighting Designer in selecting light fixtures and determining locations of fixtures to achieve the proposed effects; in addition, some steps toward Liturgical design concepts have been initiated.
