BEHIND THE SCENES: MARCH CONSTRUCTION UPDATE VIDEO

Marching into the Lenten Season

In the month of February, our little town in Kansas shivered through the cold weather and winter storms that swept through much of the continental United States. Sub-zero temperatures stalled construction for over a week while wintery conditions have created difficulties in the precision of the construction required for this project.

But with every time of setback or difficulty, there also comes a time of rejoicing and exaltation. Providence allows a mirroring of the feast of Easter with the rising visible progress of the ascending vertical steel beams.

Through this month of March, the eastern vertical steel work will move into the next phase of framing the east wall. The nave and transept slab decks will be poured, and we will also see an access road being prepared for the incoming masonry contractors, getting the commotion ramped up again and ready for Spring at the Immaculata Church Project.

May the grace of this Lenten observance thaw and melt the coldness of our hearts that on Easter, we may rise again gloriously united in Christ.
