At sunrise this morning, we gathered to greet the beautiful day and watch the cupola be lifted to the top of the Immaculata!

The cupola will become the ‘pedestal’ on which the statue of the Immaculata will one day stand to watch over and protect us.

When is the cupola going up?

Tuesday, July 13 at 6:00AM CST

The cupola should be in the air before 7AM.

A test run is being conducted this afternoon and everything is in place to be set in motion -- the cupola will be raised tomorrow morning.

Set-up for the hoist happening now!

The 550-ton crane has arrived at the Immaculata jobsite – calibration and testing is underway before picking up the cupola roof.

A test run will take place this afternoon before the final decision is made for the real lift… we will keep you posted whether it happens later this afternoon or first thing tomorrow morning.

The timing of this event is weather-reliant, but the projected date is set for Monday, July 12. Specifics on the exact time and date will be broadcast next week.

Observation Deck seating and parking priority will be given to elderly or ADA guests. More viewing and parking space is available along the Gideon’s Way and Second Street fence parameters.

Walk to the jobsite's Observation Deck or watch the progress on the Live Camera.
The LiveCam is updated with photos every 5 minutes and not a video livestream.

Please pray for good weather!
Due to the huge size of this cupola, in order to raise it the necessary ~100 feet in the air and install on the steel frame, there must be nearly perfect weather with winds less than 10 miles per hour.
